5 CROCHET PROJECTS BY AUSTRALIAN DESIGNERS

With the weather starting to cool here in the Southern Hemisphere, I thought I would highlight some Australian designers to go with our Australian yarns.

We know that sometimes there is a bit of a bias in the craft community to knitters so today, we are starting with the crocheters.  Below, you will find links to 5 amazing project patterns on ravelry by Australian crochet designers. To make life easy, we have also included some yarn inspiration too. Enjoy!

1. Three Springs by Deanne Ramsay

This gorgeous crocheted shawl is made from fingering weight yarn. This would look beautiful with two skeins of the Three Trees Fibrecraft Lavender Field , with pops of contrast with some minis you may have stashed away or our naturally coloured yarn from Fibre Arts Shed Green Label

2. Wattle Buds Cardigan by Little Golden Nook

Who doesn't love a DK weight cardigan? These cute wattle bud clusters would look darling in White Gum Wool Fairy Wren or Three Tree Fibrecrafts Frosted. You'll need about 10 x 100g.

3. Mosaic Bandana Cowl by Abbeymade

How beautiful is this contrasting patterned Cowl in fingering weight yarn? You could create a great contrast with Three Trees Fibrecrafts Relief and Three Trees Fibrecrafts Blue on Blue  or White Gum Wool Rosehip and White Gum Wool Everlasting.

 4. Poppy Seed Cardigan by Rosey Cheeks' Design

Here is a quick DK pattern for the kids! This delightful little pattern would need about 2-3 x 100g balls depending on size. I'm sure that Three Trees Fibrecrafts Cajun Spice would be beautiful.

5. Crocheted Project Bag by Jessica Gore

These beautiful bags would be great in some upcycled Society Knits Cotton in DK weight. A practical project that would be giving new life to old threads.

Happy knotting
