It’s me, Sally the face and head and shoulders behind @societyknits. You may have previously seen me on my personal page @sjknots
Society Knits has been a slowly smouldering passion project for a while now. But what has sparked has been the opportunity to create an online store that serves multiple purposes
- one that showcases fibre and yarn grown in Australia and sold by Australian businesses so you don’t need to look anywhere else
- one that upcycles yarn and fabric to minimise textile waste into limited edition products
I have been asked many times where the name Society Knits comes from.
It all started with a small town community knitting group that reignited my love of knitting. Not only did this group show me how to link together the loops of my yarn, but it also linked me into a new community.
The yarn and fibre community on social media is such a wonderful place to be part of. I hope to provide the opportunity to help knit other people into this incredible space and introduce them to the wonders of all Australian products.
